I just re-dyed my hair.

I didn't even need the new container of dye: there was enough in the first one to do a thorough job.

Rinsing my hair thoroughly while wearing latex gloves is a very odd sensation: I'm used to a lot of tactile feedback I wasn't getting.

What kind of dye do *you* use? Me, I go for Special Effects -- a mixture of Burgundy Wine and Virgin Rose, sometimes augmented by a little Cherry Bomb. :-}.

B Wild mousse--it comes in a canister with a nozzle (which I suspect should not go down the compactor chute) and straight onto the hair. I just use their purple: these don't seem like colors that would mix well.

Sounds much less gloppy, especially with shorter hair. I do so love the glamorous part of keeping my slimy hair up under a shower cap for an hour or more to let the dye seep in. :-P I last did mine about 5 or 6 weeks ago; time for a touch-up soon, methinks.

As for job interviews, well, I put my hair up anyway, and the ends are always the brightest part. Under indoor lighting, you might see it as burgundy or purplish highlights (my hair is obviously much darker than yours) and I'm hoping that it won't be egregiously weird. I tend to allow myself to be eccentric/arty/creative within limits for interview situations, and try to keep a balance that somehow gives off the Right Impression: I'm not mainstream, but I'm harmless, and I'm good at what I do and you should hire me. :-}

but I have this hankering to see your hair absolutely the same color as the topknot on a female cardinal....yes, that sort of tender, bittersweet orange with a faint overlay of pale brown to it. Must be the userid that does it to me.

Hmm. That might work with my coloring, but, despite the username, I tend to go more for purple/blue/green than for red or orange.

Yeah, I've been thinking of redoing mine again tomorrow, as it's gotten to the pretty-much-all-pink stage of the cycle instead of pink and purple.

I've been using vinyl gloves (the cheap by-the-boxful ones) for a while now -- they don't fit as snugly as latex but they don't rip like latex either.

I wish I didn't have to worry about getting a new job, I do something wild with my hair again. Of course grandmama likes that I let my hair go back to being dark brown again.

Yeah, many many years ago I wound up cutting almost all of my hair off before going to work one Monday, after the "washable" hair color I'd sprayed on for a party wouldn't wash out.

A number of the jobs I hope to get have a dress code and everything, so I'm not doing anything crazy right now. Though if I ever win the lottery, watch out world!
