Mee-ow!

I was minding my own business, checking a pot on the stove, and suddenly hit on the back by a drop of hot water.

This is what happens when a small leak in the roof seeps through via the kitchen light fixture.

I'd not thought much about the small puddles on the kitchen floor, though perhaps I should have: it's easy enough to assume that rain blew in the window, after all.

I think this is a problem that we report to the super but they don't have to come into our apartment to fix.

And, just for good measure, on my way over to the computer to write this, I kicked a box with my bare foot.

Addenda: There are two leaks, which now have buckets under them.

cattitude went down and talked to the super, who will come take a look at it in the morning. I guess that means I'm stuck at home for the morning. I'll cope.

You did turn the kitchen light off, didn't you? Because water and electricity are a bad combination.

Yes.

And then cooked dinner by the light from the fixture in the next room, glad all the while that I have a gas stove.
