I'm feeling a lot better than I was even a few days ago, enough so that when [livejournal.com profile] eleanor came up here to show me her not-a-red-sportscar (and a very fine one it is), I happily walked with her through the park, had lunch at a Latin American restaurant (otherwise empty: they seemed to be doing a fine takeout business, though), and walked back, basically comfortable and enjoying the bright, warm day. I did walk a little more slowly than I would when completely well, but that was the only concession I had to make.

This evening, I went downtown and met my mother for dinner: Chinese food at Tea Den, one of my regular default places. The shredded duck would probably have been better if we hadn't asked for it not spicy (Mom doesn't do hot-and-spicy); we talked about money, health, and relatives, and the whole evening was far more cheerful than that sounds.

I'll probably wait until Monday to go back to the gym, though, just to be on the safe side.

I'm glad you're feeling better!

And the dinner sounds nice -- not the food as much though as the being with your mom. I miss not being able to have conversations like that with my mom.

Hooray!

But did the doctor not give you some guidelines on getting back to serious exercise? Wouldn't want you to relapse... :-/

Congratulations! Glad to hear you had an enjoyable day.

After the shock of a pneumonia diagnosis, I'm cheered to see you so energetically on the mend.

Hopes for continued improvements!

Oh, goody! When you go back to the doc for checkup, see if he thinks you need the vaccine. I get it, but I'm an asthmatic and at increased risk.

Sounds as if Dr. Rest has done you a lot of good, though!

Yup. It's mostly restricted to those with immune-challenged systems (me, frinstance) and those over 60. However, since you've had the illness once, perhaps they'll consider you're at greater risk now. I've had it at least 5 times.

I'm so glad you're feeling somewhat better.
