For anyone in what [personal profile] rydra_wong tags as Watergate fandom, Here's Jay Kuo's write-up of the Thursday night massacre. [Since someone asked, the "massacres" here are metaphorical.]

The article is about current political news, both the Trump administration and current New York mayor Eric Adams.

If I can forget this is the real world it all becomes almost funny.

Thank you, that was unexpectedly cheering. I had read about the resignations, but the articles were not at all good at saying that this meant the charges against Adams had not been dismissed, or putting anything in a broader context. The resignations were almost, in some cases, treated as a victory by the administration: Ha, got rid of another ethical one, forge on! or whatever.

I couldn't bring myself to read it. Is this about a metaphorical massacre, or a literal one? Are the types of people dying over there as a result of politics starting to extend past those who are being denied medical care (or funding for it, which is the same thing) and people being rounded up for the crime of not bei g a rich white man?
