In this case, I dithered long enough to miss the mail-in registration deadline for Albacon, which was the 13th. Whether it's postmark date or received date hardly matters, under the circumstances.
Clarification: I will be going to Albacon, I'm just vaguely irritated at myself for dithering long enough that I'll be paying the higher at-the-door rate.
