Herb chocolates

I bought two rosemary truffles at Chocolats Privileges, out of curiosity, and because I like their basil and lime chocolates very much. I just tried the rosemary truffle, and am not impressed. It’s a mild flavor, but I don’t think it would be improved by more rosemary. Then I ate a basil lime truffle, which was good, as usual.

ETA: I bought two of the rosemary truffles, because I wanted to bring one home for cattitude to try. He said something like "I can see learning to like these." So, I will not be ordering that flavor again.

I have a feeling I'd prefer basil/lime to rosemary with chocolate if I had to have one or the other.

While I love rosemary I can't see it working too well with chocolate, unlike, say, bay.

Chocolats Privileges do have non-herbed chocolates, but thoes didn't seem worth carrying back from Montreal by plane. We can now get very good and varied non-dairy chocolates locally (from Serenity Chocolate, in Brookline Village).

I have fond memories of a strawberry-tarragon chocolate I got a few times at Cha Noir, but they stopped carrying those chocolates sometimes well before the pandemic, and these days I'm not going out to sit with a pot of good tea, a book, and maybe a pastry or a few pieces of chocolate, in a tea shop. *sigh* Not the worst thing about the pandemic, but it comes to mind in odd moments like this.
