I got my hair cut today. I'm pleased with the result, and it took a lot less time than the previous cut, because my previous haircut involved a lot of me being uncertain, and a bit of "is this good, or do you want something different and shorter?" This time, I walked in and said "I want the same haircut as last time."
I used a little of the spare time to have the hairdresser take lots of photos of my haircut, from different angles including one from above. These will be helpful later on, when
cattitude is buzz-cutting the shortest parts, and trying to figure out where to part my hair. I have an appointment for another haircut, on December 8th.
I wore a KN95 mask with earloops for the haircut, and held the mask to my face for a minute while Taylor cut the hair around my right ear. I had forgotten how uncomfortable those masks are, in part because I almost never use them. The head-strap KN95s from the same company are more comfortable, but not as good as the actual N95s we've been wearing.
Inconveniently, I got a text at about 11:15 saying my 3:15 appointment was rescheduled for 2:00. So, instead of having a leisurely lunch here and then going to Somerville, I decided to have lunch in Davis Square, and Cattitude came with me. The trip over took significantly longer than we expected, because the trolley and the red line were both running slowly, for no reason that was explained to us. We got poke, which we ate sitting at one of the tables in Davis Square. I had time to get a cup of tea at Diesel before getting on the bus to the hairdresser's, and drank the tea on a bench across the street from the hair salon.
Also, I'd been planning to pay using Venmo, but the app said I would need to reenter my bank information, which I couldn't remember. Taylor said I could do that when I got home, as long as it was before 5 p.m.; rather than hurry home, I went across the street and used an ATM to get cash. (My credit union refunds up to $6/month of ou.)t-of-network ATM fees; I don't use that very often, but it has come in handy a few times this year.)
