Looking at the health plan's website, and telling it I want an occupational therapist who sees people my age, is taking new patients, and is within ten miles of my new apartment, gave me a much more manageable list of people (13). With 13 names, it's easier to skim down and look for people with relevant training, meaning an MD or OT, not someone whose name is followed by "ACU" or "DC."

I suspect my best choice is the person in Somerville -- the address I didn't recognize is in Assembly Row, which would be an easy subway trip (green line to North Station and change for the orange line). Her name is Vasileia Varvarigou, MD. If that doesn't turn out to be suitable, because my primary doctor may not be able to give me a referral to her, the next choice is the occupational therapost in Arlington I've seen before. There's also a place in Newton, but they specialize in rehab after strokes.

ETA: I talked to someone at the insurance company, and (1) I don't need a referral for OT, and *2) both the MD and the OT (Deveikas) are in my network.
