That's mte too, only I never go into shoe stores because I don't like it, I just order online. And mine is the SL2 last. I don't know what I'll do if they stop making it. Oh, and I find the actual New Balance site to be both irritating and basically useless, but there's a site called A Perfect Dealer that lets you filter by last AND carries some discontinued models.
I've successfully worn New Balance men's walking shoes in size 7.5, same width as whatever I needed at the time. But I suspect it may vary shoe by shoe.
