A decent workout, focused on upper-body stuff:


Cardio, 20 minutes, top heart rate 147 (Saturday's paper is thin, and I ran out of reading at about 19 minutes)

Bench press, I borrowed an idea from [livejournal.com profile] xiphias and did very slow reps until I had to stop, then three quick ones:
50 pounds: 8 slow, 3 fast; 5 slow, 3 fast. Back to my usual approach next time, I think. I might try this approach on some other machine, but on the bench press it messed up my breathing.

Seated leg curl, 80 pounds, 15, 10--stopped because my right calf felt like it was cramping up

Adjustable row, 100 pounds, 3 sets of 15
Tricep pulldown, 35 pounds, 3 sets of 15
Reverse wrist curl, 15 pounds, 3 sets of 15

Crunches, 4 sets of 20
Back arches, 3 sets of 15

Bicep curl, 35-pound bar, 3 sets of 15
Lateral raise (out, to center, and down): 5 pounds each hand, 3 sets of 15

Overhead press, 25 pounds, 10, 6 (this is an xpressline machine, so I normally do ≤12 reps at this weight)

Stretches


Then I tried Quizno's for lunch (a decent variation on a cheesesteak, not enough mushrooms to really taste them), and went to the Greenmarket for plums, strawberries, and chocolate milk.
