We have reached the point that Amtrak, Greyhound, and two or three airlines are sending me email about discounted tickets. Sorry, the trips I want to take would be imprudent, even if the destination would let me in without a two-week quarantine, or at all.

United's flying to Tahiti nonstop again, but French Polynesia has a big uptick in Covid cases and is warning level 3, so I'm still holding on to my fully paid vacation hoping next year we'll get there. Meanwhile, gosh I wish Corflu in March was likely to happen, but I doubt it will and I'm not sure I could fly to the UK by then, either.

I am hoping that I'll be able to get into Canada by October 2021, for the postponed Scintillation.

My mother is in London; the UK would let me in (unless they change that), with a two-week quarantine. So I'm not doing that as a social/just visiting trip, and I am sitting here hoping that nothing changes to make this urgent. (My mother is in good health for her age, and age is her only risk factor; she is also being careful.)

New York state would let me in, I think (I haven't checked today), but I hope I'm not going to be visiting soon (my aunt is being treated for cancer).

I keep getting offers from the rental car company we used to patronize. No, I do not want a free upgrade to a luxury vehicle, nor do I want to buy a lightly used SUV.

Those don't seem quite as weird, because driving alone or with someone you live with doesn't add your COVID risk.
