Meanwhile, in the Montreal bus terminal, there is now a sign at the gate for the Boston bus, advising passengers that it is illegal to transport cannabis over an international border.

I'm not really a fan of such signs, to my mind they equate trans and nonbinary people with aliens (strange creatures, who may or may not be real). My favourite type of inclusive toilet sign looks like this:

I laughed a lot at that sign.
Don't see it as eqating aliens with anybody in particular.
