I still have the "ask me anything" sign on, clearly. One of my coworkers just came over saying he'd thought "I'll bet Vicki can help me."
When I asked what this was about, it turned out he wanted a suggestion of an algebra book, because he's forgotten a lot of it, and wants to review so he can help his son with homework. The son is starting second grade in the fall, so Jay will be well ahead of what his class is covering, but that makes sense to me. I made a couple of general comments, and have agreed to look at his high school text, which he still has. I also said he might want to talk to one of the editors who does math full time.
