Another short post-lunch workout. I note that the gym branch just southwest of City Hall Park has adequate air conditioning, but seems to have misplaced many of the smaller dumbbells. I was down there, after lunch in Chinatown, because I'd been told I could see the waterfalls project from City Hall Park. Not so. [I'm not linking because the site has a rapidly moving rippling-water background that bothered me to look at, and might be dangerous for people with seizure disorders. Google on "New York City Waterfalls" and you'll find plenty.]
The problem with squeezing in gym after my Friday half-days in summer is twofold: it can mean there isn't much time between lunch and gym, and it leaves me balancing my desire to exercise with my desire to have some time alone. I was feeling a little dissatisfied with having had to make that tradeoff [I wasn't up to the gym last night, physically], and in fact abandoned one errand in order to get home sooner. Then I came home and found
mrissa's excellent advice to "have the fun you're having" and not fret about what you're missing. There still aren't enough hours in those Fridays, but this is definitely a useful thing to remember.
