I'm in a clumsy mode at the moment. In the course of cooking myself lunch, I (in order) banged my foot hard enough on the wall that I stopped to sit down and ice it; dropped butter on the floor instead of in the frying pan where it belonged; and then, when I dropped another piece butter in the pan, splashed a bit of hot oil on my hand. And the tap water was only lukewarm, not properly cold for soothing it.

The omelet came out burned, too.

And then I had a piece of chocolate, and that didn't taste right either. Neither did a piece from last night--I'd be thinking unkind thoughts about Varsano's (where I got this box of chocolate yesterday) except that [livejournal.com profile] cattitude had a piece last night, and said it was tasty, as usual.

I was going to postpone taking the cat in for his shots, but the vet is going to be away for a week after this, and while putting it off to Friday seemed reasonable, three weeks doesn't (and two wouldn't work, because of my travel plans).

So I will drink tea, eat yogurt and whatever else seems safe and nourishing, and try not to drop the cat.
