I got up a little later than I'd originally planned: I turned over and went back to sleep around 7:30, and [livejournal.com profile] julian_tiger didn't wake me (by pushing something off the top of the filing cabinet) until around nine. I was, and am, amused that I was awakened by that noise, when I'd been sleeping through consistent jackhammering outside.

So, tea and the net and breakfast and shower, and I wasn't at the subway station until almost 11. It all worked out well, just slightly later than anticipated: I'm less of a morning person, this week, than I think of myself as. I suspect that this is reaction to all those months of getting up at 6:15 and out before 7; if not, if it's a long-term change, I can accept that.

My first stop was in Midtown, for a nice long workout, punctuated with a chat with Elliott, my favorite of the current staff, who congratulated me for quitting the job from hell and told me about having bailed out of a corporate job because it was eating his life. After exercising, I went down to Chinatown for a slightly late lunch. Mmm, duck. Still no cartons of clementines on the street fruit stands, so I proceeded up to Greenwich Village, where I bought a shoulder bag made from a pair of jeans, on impulse, and failed to buy socks, because the Sock Man hadn't put out the new shipment and hence didn't have the cheap black socks I buy there. So I walked up to 14th Street to hang out with [livejournal.com profile] porcinea, who gave me tea, and [livejournal.com profile] alexanderjasper, who had fun making noise with assorted toys and kitchen utensils. I also got to pet Trouble, who is a good boy and didn't try to bite me even once. Since it was a nice day, we walked over to Union Square, and into one of the playgrounds for which you must be accompanied by a child. There are no adult-sized toys/play equipment there, but Alexander liked the swings, and I was happy to just hang out with him and Piglet.

My knees and feet are not happy, I suspect from some combination of the more intense workout and the walking (many stairs).

Cardio, 35 minutes, top heart rate 154 (the machine displayed as high as 162, but I don't believe it--that was a sudden jump and short-lived)

Calf machine, 70 pounds, 3 sets of 12
Bench press, 65 pounds, 10, 8
Leg press (the plate-loaded machine): 220 pounds, 12; 215 pounds, 8. Despite padding my shoulders with a towel, I found a red mark on my right shoulder afterwards.
Biceps curl, 40 pound barbell, 12, 15, 15
Lateral raise, 7.5 pounds each hand, 14, 8; 5 pounds each hand, 15 (this is the full up to side, in to center, down move)
Leg curl, 100 pounds, 15, 12
Triceps pulldown, 45 pounds, 2 sets of 15
Wrist curl, 35 pounds, 2 sets of 15
Adjustable row, 90 pounds, 3 sets of 15

Crunches, 4 sets of 20
Arches, 3 sets of 17
Yoga tree, 4 sets of {2 on each leg}
