After a few days when I didn't feel like walking more than half a block if I could help it, I was feeling enough better today, that I decided to take transit to Harvard Square and get ice cream. I had a hot fudge sundae, and now have black raspberry, chocolate, and ginger ice cream in the freezer, and the trip itself went pretty well. I'm not planning any long walks in the next few days, but was fine with the walk to the trolley, a few blocks of walking in Harvard Square, and then the walk back from the trolley.
(A couple of days of knee stiffness and pain were followed by a day when my calf muscle felt as though I'd awakened from a bad charley horse that morning. Last night I woke up at about 1:30 with a noticeable though not-as-bad charley horse, so I had a glass of orange juice, for the potassium, and went back to bed. This seems to have worked.)
