I had a telemedicine appointment this morning, and about five minutes before the start time I put on a pair of jeans. (For just hanging out at home on a hot day, a t-shirt and underwear will do.)
This is exactly the sort of thing telemedicine is made for: a person with a serious cough, who otherwise would have to take transit or a Lyft. I don't think it's Covid, and the doctor didn't suggest getting tested--but whatever this infection is, I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
Andrea prescribed a cough syrup (containing codeine and guaifenisin, the latter to help clear some of the gunk out of my lungs.
cattitude kindly picked it up at the pharmacy, and stopped on the way home to buy me Italian ices, blue vanilla this time. Those specific ices were the most confortable/pleasant thing I've eaten or drunk in the last 36 hours. I followed them with a cup of tea, which had had time to cool off, cooler than I usually like, which is what I need right now.
Other than that, I slept badly, and not very long, and my goals for the rest of the day are to stay hydrated, and hopefully get more sleep than last night. The doctor said I should call back if I don't feel better by Wednesday or Thursday.
