I had a telemedicine appointment this morning, and about five minutes before the start time I put on a pair of jeans. (For just hanging out at home on a hot day, a t-shirt and underwear will do.)

This is exactly the sort of thing telemedicine is made for: a person with a serious cough, who otherwise would have to take transit or a Lyft. I don't think it's Covid, and the doctor didn't suggest getting tested--but whatever this infection is, I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Andrea prescribed a cough syrup (containing codeine and guaifenisin, the latter to help clear some of the gunk out of my lungs. [personal profile] cattitude kindly picked it up at the pharmacy, and stopped on the way home to buy me Italian ices, blue vanilla this time. Those specific ices were the most confortable/pleasant thing I've eaten or drunk in the last 36 hours. I followed them with a cup of tea, which had had time to cool off, cooler than I usually like, which is what I need right now.

Other than that, I slept badly, and not very long, and my goals for the rest of the day are to stay hydrated, and hopefully get more sleep than last night. The doctor said I should call back if I don't feel better by Wednesday or Thursday.
