It took me three tries to get a drinkable cup of tea made.

The first was ruined when I poured in milk--from a bottle I opened just before pouring, purchased yesterday--and it turned out to be spoiled.

The second I forgot about until it had become unreasonably strong.

The third worked: with a different kind of tea, as well as a fresh container of milk, because I wanted to futz with such variables as I could.

On the other hand, we did have a nice lunch--including a chocolate souffle for dessert--at a local bistro (those who know the neighborhood will realize how unlikely this sentence is) after picking up apple-raspberry juice and other good things at the Greenmarket, once the rain had abated.
