(no subject)

We had dim sum today with Elizabeth and a crowd of other people; I think 19 total, counting her, me, and cattitude. China Pearl, but I got a better selection than I sometimes do there, in part because they brought the sticky rice around while I was still hungry. (She organizes this every year, has been doing so long enough that she doesn't remember exactly how long it's been.)

I spent some time catching up with her, and a few other people from way back when. I hadn't seen Beth Kevles since some time in the late 1980s, I think; she didn't recognize me, nor I her, but identified her from a conversation about her and "the other Beth". And Karla I'd never met in person; we were in an apa together, way back when, when that was a thing.

That was a pleasant couple of hours, and then we left while I was still feeling cheerful and a bit social.

I also had a nice phone conversation with my mother this morning; got a bit of indexing work done; and have exercised some. Looking at this list, that feels like a lot. Go me.

saving some for later: Yuletide

I've been looking at this year's Yuletide stories. There are multiple stories each for Le Guin's *The Author of the Acacia Seeds* (and Earthsea and the Left Hand of Darkness, and one for *Always Coming Home*. Also three for the Enchanted Forest Books, one for *The Comfortable Courtesan*, and other things weird and wonderful.

(I'm definitely looking at the *very* small end of the "small fandoms" spectrum here, though I will likely look at the Discworld ones as well--there might be more Librarian stories.)
