I mentioned to
adrian_turtle that since the 2016 election I have emailed and/or called every elected official from alderman up to senators (repeatedly), including the county D.A. and state attorney general, except the mayor of Somerville, and that I felt like I ought to call or email him, out of some sense of completeness. (There's no point calling the White House. I have left comments on various things for executive departments like Interior and Homeland Security, but that's mostly to create a paper trail for possible lawsuits.)
At Adrian's suggestion, I just emailed Mayor Curtatone, to tell him that I strongly support Somerville's sanctuary city policy. So, one odd set completed; I wonder whether there's any value in letting him know that I am also strongly in favor of the Green Line extension.
The email to my alderman was to ask him to support asking the state legislature for a home rule message so the city pension fund can divest from fossil fuel companies. He wrote back with enthusiastic agreement, and asking when I moved into the ward and where I live.
Addendum: I got email from the mayor's office this morning, thanking me for my support on this.
