I went to the gym today for the first time in almost two weeks (I didn't feel up to it last Monday, and then on Thursday Emilie canceled as I was leaving the house, and it didn't seem worth going downtown in rush hour to work out in a crowded gym), though I did a little bit of stuff at home Thursday evening and in
adrian_turtle's living room on the weekend. I did a bunch of the usual stuff, and didn't push myself.
After working out, I called
cattitude and met him in Chinatown for lunch. Note: the shumai at Excellent Dumpling are served in a slightly spicy peanut sauce, which I didn't really care for. I stopped at the drugstore on my way home to pick up a prescription, and asked about flu shots. They told me it was covered with no co-pay, so I got one. This feels like a grown-up thing: flu shot as impulse purchase. (I exaggerate slightly, in that I get one every year, but I hadn't planned it for today.) The pharmacist also gave me a book of discount coupons; the signs advertising flu shots mention the coupon book as an incentive. Whatever works, I guess.
