I got here yesterday afternoon, and we have had food, tea, and conversation.
And then I woke up at about 5:30 this morning. Not great, since I want and expect to be up until midnight. Nobody's fault, and
papersky said something about the wake-up chemicals in the air, when I finally gave up a bit after six, having heard her making tea.
The trip up was easy. Yes, I seem not to have packed my hairbrush, and the airport could have done a better job with signs for "we have moved the bus stop to a more sensible location," but I found the new stop by playing "follow the bus" and did so in time to get on that bus, not have to wait for another.
(Security at LaGuardia "patted me down," for values of same that are so security theater it's almost funny: she would have found something bulky attached to my arms or sides, but not on my legs or tucked into my bra. And the X-ray machine didn't notice the toothpaste, lotion, etc. that I had put into a zip-lock bag in an easily reachable outside pocket of my bag, and then forgotten about because I was taking off my boots and shuffling them, a container with keys and coat, and my suitcase itself. Almost no wait taking off from LGA or at Immigration here at Dorval (YUL), but those are probably unrelated facts.)
