Good: I am the cheerful holder of a $50 gift certificate (or virtual and monetary equivalent) for
elisem's jewelry, a prize connected to the Magpie Telegraph postings. I have put a note about it on my computer.
Not so good: Finishing this manuscript is feeling like a slog. I may try to get some useful stuff done in the next few days, but not tomorrow. Tomorrow I have set aside for myself, and that doesn't mean paid work, either for Triumph or for the freelance client.
Good: I am getting a break at a time when it is feeling very appealing. Six months from now I'll be wishing we had more of our time off in the summer, but here and now I can use the rest. (Two five-day weekends, one here with
cattitude and one in Massachusetts with
adrian_turtle.
Odd: the downstairs neighbor apparently took great offense at my closing the door somewhat abruptly after telling her I wasn't going to the building holiday party and then saying something vague in response to her "Why not?" I wished her good night in the elevator yesterday and she yelled at me for daring to speak to her, or some such. I wonder whether she will remember her anger the next time her cat gets out onto the fire escape. (Cattitude pointed out that he doesn't thinking particularly highly of her judgment; nor do I, but I don't like being sniped at for alleged rudeness, either.)
Good: I have been to the gym, and came home via a grocery store, with a five-pound box of clementines.
julian_tiger is pleased. ( and here is the inevitable cut tag )
