redbird: London travelcard showing my face (travelcard)

I am home and it is Spring!

It's marginally Spring in Montreal, mostly above freezing but there was snow left in some places, and some fell Sunday, crocuses just sprouting, and the Alpine Garden was still fenced off. Here, the cherries and apples and ornamental pears are in bloom (the apple wasn't on Friday, when I left), and the lawns around LaGuardia are just full of dandelions and forsythia and daffodils, all yellow on rich green. It has the effect of Spring seeming sudden, here, even though I've watched it, slow and steady, for weeks.

That said, it was delightful to see [livejournal.com profile] papersky, [livejournal.com profile] rysmiel, [livejournal.com profile] zorinth, and [livejournal.com profile] embryomystic and [livejournal.com profile] rezendi (for a 30-second hug as we walked in opposite directions on Upper Lachine, and then briefly over breakfast the next morning. Dim sum and ice cream and pho (not all the same day), and Papersky's cooking, and I met Z's girlfriend, and we had time to rest a bit and read our books and play Fluxx. My flight back today was late enough for me to be able to have a nice breakfast with Papersky (pain dore [French toast en anglais] and Assam tea at Moi, Toi, et Cafe), and then for us to stop in at Marche Atwater so I could get maple syrup and chocolate to bring back, and she could get a few groceries.
