redbird: closeup of me drinking tea, in a friend's kitchen (Default)
( May. 7th, 2007 10:50 pm)
I just spent a long weekend visiting [livejournal.com profile] adrian_turtle. We mostly kept to ourselves, except for the bits of random interaction with bus drivers saying the fare box was broken, ice cream sellers asking whether I wanted a large or a small sundae, and such.

I helped her with some random domestic stuff, like cooking; made lots of tea; and didn't change a lightbulb. because it turned out the fixture is painted closed. (Yes, she's lived there for years. It was a good light bulb.)

Mostly, we talked, read, and walked around Arlington. Spring comes slightly later there, so I got more forsythia and flowering cherries.

I was having a low-dexterity weekend, but nobody was injured, and there was no significant property damage. I did drop a glass bottle of iced tea, which broke, as I was preparing to board my bus home, but I'm fairly sure the worst outcome of that was that I had no iced tea during the bus ride; it might not count as property damage at all. (Earlier in the weekend, after I'd been fretting about another act of clumsiness, Adrian pointed out that there'd been neither injury nor property damage.) This may be connected to my being short on sleep--in particular, we both tossed and turned a lot on Friday night.
