I'm waiting for the phone technician.

I called this morning, and the automated system duly confirmed that they would need to send a tech, and that I won't be charged. It then told me that the earliest available time was "today, sometime between now and five p.m." Having no pressing engagements outside the house, I accepted this. A few minutes later, a woman named Debbie called back and confirmed the appointment.

I'm going to Montreal!

I have a round-trip Amtrak/VIA Rail ticket, for the middle of April (Easter weekend, because [livejournal.com profile] rysmiel has some time off work then). Family! Zoo! Bookstores! *bounce*

Unfortunately, I have only one round-trip ticket; I can't bring [livejournal.com profile] cattitude with me this time, because his work can't spare him right now.

I'm taking the train rather than flying because it's a lot cheaper--especially once you compare the actual price to fly, including the umpteen different taxes, some of which are called "fees" (but still go to governments, not the airline). Besides, Bonaventure is a lot easier to get to than Dorval, and Penn Station is more convenient at this end than any of the local airports.
