[livejournal.com profile] kightp reminded me I'd set this up. At the moment it contains exactly one item (I having dealt with the other myself): it's an all-purpose online wish list.

As Pat said, this is in no sense a request to get me anything; I'm putting this here as much so I'll remember I did it (what I had is a bookmark on my work machine) as anything else.

I've realized, again, that what I want doesn't fit conveniently on a wish list. Part of it is things that are either too big--it would be nice for me and [livejournal.com profile] cattitude to have a house with a garden. Other things aren't material and/or buyable: I would like to live closer to [livejournal.com profile] adrian_turtle and Q, but that's not something that anyone can go out and get me. And some could be bought, if I knew who sold them: I want jeans, and warm fall-to-winter-weight pants, in my size with decent pockets and in colors I like. (Dark blue and black are certainly acceptable.) If there's a way to look on the Web and find out how big the pockets of a mail-order garment are, I haven't found it, and wandering through stores this season has been mostly an exercise in disappointment.

Fortunately, I don't think many people feel the need to buy me gifts.

The electrician has been here.

He moved the over-the-desk fluorescent lamp from the empty desk next to me to the spot over my phone and just to the left of my computer.

He also found an outlet, which was hidden behind one of my neighbor's packing crates (Steve figures he'll be moving again by January, so there's no point unpacking).

This isn't my favorite form of lighting, but it's better--I think and hope--than no light at all. If I'm wrong about that, I can turn it off, go downstairs to K-Mart, and buy a cheap desk lamp.
