My Unitarian Jihad name, or perhaps title, is Sister Meat Cleaver of Looking at All Sides of the Question. [I gather this has been fed into the generator, so you may see other similar names.]

Edited: I agree with pameladean that "Sister" or "Brother" sounds a bit off in this context, so I'm dropping it from my title, and am simply the Meat Cleaver of Looking at All Sides of the Question (which is long enough for most purposes, though an Ent would consider it short). As she says, though, the Unitarian Jihad is not about telling you whether to call yourself Sister or Brother, so if you think those titles sound good, that's fine too.

Spring!

Spring seems to be happening all at once. From almost no forsythia yesterday, today there are lots, all yellow and glorious, along with many many daffodils. Magnolia are in bloom, as are red maples. The last snowdrops are still around, with plenty of crocus--and the apricot tree on 207th Street is blossoming.

Unfortunately, it took less spring walking than I'd hoped or expected to wear me out at the Bronx Zoo. A small factor may have been that there were too many people in certain places, notably Tiger Mountain--the Pere David deer, just down the way, were a great relief after that--but also a woman who latched onto us at the snow leopard exhibit and wanted to talk enough that she followed us not only through that area, but on to the crane across the way. Crane singular, alas: apparently they're waiting for an okay from the Species Survival Plan on breeding him, and in the meantime his erstwhile mate is somewhere else.

Many turtles were visible, and some were swimming or walking, not just basking. The local waterfowl area is full of red-wing blackbirds, singing to stake their claims to the best trees and shrubs.

cattitude and I have renewed our Zoo membership--and I have a nice dark green t-shirt, with an elephant on it, as a premium--and joined WFUV-FM.
