This should have been obvious, but I didn't think of it right away, so others may not have either: log in (via a dialup or using the .net or .org names, e.g. panix3.panix.net) and change your login password, because the hijackers may have grabbed your password when you tried connecting early in the problem.

MelbourneIT has an online survey. This is what I left in the "any further comment" box:
The survey ends with a boilerplate "Thank you for your contribution. This information will help us offer you a better service in future."
It might, were they to take it to heart, which I doubt they will.
Melbourne IT appears to be involved in the hijacking of my ISP's domain name registration. Panix.com staff have made several attempts to contact you, only to be brushed off.
Given your lack of concern for the illegal transfer of a fully-paid-up domain registration from another registrar, I will not be purchasing any services from you. Furthermore, I would advise anyone who asked me that your organization lacks either integrity or competence and that they should take their business elsewhere.
