redbird: closeup of me drinking tea, in a friend's kitchen (Default)

I've gotten lots of nice birthday greetings today. Also, my coworkers brought in various treats, enough to share around: a container of watermelon (because they noticed how much I was eating and enjoying watermelon during the summer), some other fruit, a package of Oreos, and a package of the Stop-and-Shop store brand equivalent.

I have thus eaten lots of sweet stuff: watermelon is mostly sugar and water, and the supermarket brand cookies turned out to be quite tasty. I also took a walk at lunchtime, and got a cucumber and tuna maki roll and a pint of tangerine juice (yes, more sweets).

Fortunately, [livejournal.com profile] cattitude roasted us a chicken, with stuffing. Yum. To the long list of foods [livejournal.com profile] julian_tiger likes, add celery. At least if it's cooked inside a chicken, with plenty of bacon fat. (Last night's lentils were flavored with chicken broth, which may be relevant. On the other paw, he's happy with plain raw cucumber, and raw as well as cooked carrots.)

I went thud, mentally, near the end of dinner, and am currently reading my friends list and trying to summon the energy to put laundry away.

Don't send me unheralded attachments.

Not even if I know you.

And especially not as a mass-mailing so it'll land in my spam folder. For all I know, that attachment I'm not opening is a marvelous fanzine. But it's statistically a lot more likely to be a virus.
