I got up and out bright and early, and was at the bank before 9, to deposit some cash in my checking account and close my savings account (I have a better savings account elsewhere), moving the whopping sixty-three dollars in that to checking.

Then I went to the gym, and had a nice thorough workout, with several exercises where I increased the weights: numbers )
After working out and showering, in a moment of optimism I put my name on the reservation list for yoga tomorrow.

I had a quick lunch in Chinatown, then bounced out to Brooklyn, where Sahadi was full of people doing Christmas grocery shopping, or so I assume. I'd agreed to meet L there, but she was delayed, so I took my time, bought nuts and things as well as the stuff on my shopping list--we were out of tomato paste and the preserves I use to flavor my yogurt, and low on honey and cocoa powder--and discovered that the price of vanilla beans is up again, and unlikely to fall before the end of 2005. I suspect I'm not going to be replenishing the vanilla in the sugar canister very often.

Walked over to L's, stashed my stuff (food purchases and backpack), and wandered around a bit with her, including another stop at Sahadi, because she wanted chestnuts. Then we had lunch--or maybe breakfast in her case. Yes, I'd already had lunch. My stomach thought a slice of pastilla (Moroccan-style chicken pie) would do nicely nonetheless. A bit of time hanging out at her apartment, then back to Inwood. I left my downstairs neighbor's Hanukah party about 40 minutes ago, having cut up vegetables, because [livejournal.com profile] cattitude was tired, but I may go back after posting this and see if the latkes are ready. Heather was very apologetic about things being delayed, but she'd had to deal with a crisis at work.

And my feet hurt, probably from the amount of time standing around in the store rather than from the walking.
