feeling sick

I have a cold. The cold pills seem to be helping, but mostly I'm glad I have no definite plans for the day.

I did get the addresses transcribed, and the cleared part of the desk washed, yesterday afternoon before I started sneezing horrendously. Then cattitude made us an excellent dinner, and I went to bed early.

a fun evening

Yesterday was P's birthday, so she had a party Saturday night (much handier for her and everyone else with a normal work schedule).

We had fun. She fed us good food--corn chowder and some very nice baked chicken with onions, and her friend Nicola made chocolate chip cookies--and we played an assortment of games, mostly in a very non-competitive way. There were a couple of rounds of "eat poop you cat" in which people alternately write phrases, illustrate them, caption the illustrations, and so on, always able to see only the most recent item. Much silliness ensued. We also did Taboo and Pictionary in relaxed, less-competitive ways. I had fun and was out, and thus up, too late: the party went until just after midnight, so we could sing "Happy Birthday" on her actual birthday.

browngirl sent me a magnet! It's a really cool Minoan woman, which cattitude said reminded him of an Etruscan image. My day has just become a lot better.
