I'll probably do a real Boskone report, or at least something useful about the weekend, later. In the meantime, this is an allusive and elliptical write-up I committed on the train last night, which will probably be useful only to me (since it mostly makes sense only if you already know what the bits refer to):

Thursday's obscure post

I've accepted an invitation to be a juror for the 2003 Tiptree Award. *grin*

When I posted that, I had been invited and not decided whether to accept, because I wanted an idea of how much work is involved. Given that I handled the book-of-the-week club in freshman English while holding down a full schedule and without a subway ride to read during, I think I can handle the amount involved here.

I was delighted and flattered to be invited, and am excited by the idea.

misc. catch-up

In case anyone was wondering, I didn't do the LJ valentines thing.

I won't have workout numbers today, because there's a blizzard out there. I called my mother this morning to assure her we'd made it home safely, since she'll probably see a weather report on the evening news in the UK.

Zorinth has gotten a bit calmer about my purple hair, but many others praised it. One young woman I'd never met thanked me for having it, adding that her mother had despaired of her when she dyed her hair. I think she was glad to see an obvious adult with bright purple hair. (One person did ask "What is it with the purple?" to which I explained that it's self-evident.

The main thing I need to catch up on is sleep, which may take a few days of (like last night) going to bed early.
