I talked to the collection company. Apparently the hospital never billed the insurance company. So they took down all the insurance information--group plan number, mailing address, my info, etc.--and they'll put the bill in. A month from now, I can check back, or assume no news is good news; they will contact me only if there's a problem, like the insurer refusing to pay.
