I didn't exactly miss this call, unless still being in bed counts.
I got up about 20 minutes later. Turned out the call was from Jo, stuck at Newark Airport for a few hours. She seemed to think we were out, and said she'd call back later--time zones and jet lag. I can't get to Newark quickly from here, and she hasn't called back. I guess I'll talk to her when they've made it to Canada.
I got three job postings from Headhunter.net today; I've answered the one for a contract "proofreader" position (they clearly want someone who can also copyedit), even though it's in White Plains and would be annoying to get to. For $30/hour, I can handle it, at least for a while.
I'll deal with the others later; I need to get out, work out, and do some shopping (nothing exciting, just tea and baking soda and such. No, this isn't a weird recipe: tea is a staple, and baking soda to sit in the refrigerator and absorb odors.)
