The good news is that I picked up my new glasses on Friday, and seem to be adjusting to them with little trouble. No surprise, since it's almost the same prescription, but I got a headache as soon as I tried them on at the eyeglass store, so put them away until the next morning, and think I'm okay. Not sure, there's a bit of eyestrain, but that may just be that I'm spending too much time looking at this screen.
And the reimbursement check showed up, with no problem. (Even places that offer to make glasses in an hour won't do it for progressive-lens bifocals with the coating that darkens in sunlight.) That was insurance from the old job, which I decided to use before I was laid off, rather than pay an extra $6.50/month to continue under COBRA, since it only covers one pair of glasses a year. Contemplating the math in retrospect, it might have been worth keeping for a pair next October. Nusuth.
