I do not like crunches.

They're probably good for me. I'll find out in a while, if I keep doing them. At Andy's suggestion, I added them to my workout today, along with an assortment of weight training, a stretch that's good for my back, and some cardio. All very thorough and healthy, but I had to promise myself sometging more fun to get through a second set of crunches. For some new value of fun, as Arthur Dent might have said--it was the seated leg press, another workout thing, but one I've gotten used to and even good at. I seem to have the goal of pressing more than my body weight on that machine, perhaps because I'm closer to my body weight there than on any other equipment I'm using, by about 60 pounds.

The elevator was out of service yesterday evening, with an (unplugged) fan in the doorway. Six flights of stairs, humid, ugh. If I'd wanted to do cardio, I'd have gone to the gym last night. (Despite the paragraph above, I'm not always into the exercise--just still amazed that I ever am, and doggedly going 2-3 times a week, and enjoying the results.)

This morning, we pushed the button and the elevator came. Dark, but it came. I pulled out my keychain and gave us some light, and we rode down. The new floor looks nice enough, as do the lighting fixtures; I just hope they don't turn the whole thing off again this evening so they can play with the wiring.
