A pleasant Fourth of July. The high points were finding the serious black raspberry patch in the park (the Parks Dept. has been cutting down berry brambles in the last few years) and, after eating our fill, seeing a wild turkey on a downed log in the woods. Andy remembered finding a clutch of eggs on the ground a couple of years ago, which might have been turkey eggs; maybe we have turkeys now to replace the pheasant population that vanished after a harsh winter. (I suspect they wound up in someone's cook-pot, but that's pure guesswork.)
Rather than join crowds downtown, we watched the Yonkers fireworks display out our living room window; it's far from an ideal angle, but the convenience is unmatched.
