Nothing major has happened, and nobody seems to know when Karen (my nominal boss) returns from maternity leave, though they're guessing within two weeks. I have, however, belatedly learned that we don't actually have to take a full hour's lunch if we don't want: most of the time, I suspect I still will, but on days like today, when it looked as though it would rain anytime, a short walk, a sandwich and pickles, and reading the paper can fit quite handily into 45 minutes. Fifteen minutes isn't a lot, but it's fifteen minutes I might as well get paid for as not.

After dinner--[livejournal.com profile] cattitude spent the afternoon cooking, and our freezer is now re-stockedchicken--I'll do a bit of freelance proofreading that has to be done with computer access; there's more work behind it, but that I can print out and take on the train.
