papersky made us all a delightful New Year's Eve dinner, and we read to each other and drank good cider and watched a bit of snow come down, just a centimeter or two but quite pretty. It's very comfortable up here, and has been unseasonably mild (i.e. highs near freezing, lows not much below). I called cattitude last night, which was good, and surprised my mother by calling this morning to wish her a happy new year. Hearing about preparations for the holiday at home, I'm as pleased not to be there; I just wish Cattitude were here with us.
