I'm thinking it would be nice to organize a group for dim sum, but in order to do that, I need a place to go. Before I resort to Yelp, recommendations would be welcome. We'd be doing this by mass transit, so are looking for something via the 77 bus and/or the red line.

(I might try for next weekend, if some of our friends are in town and not otherwise committed.)

My favorite place to go is Mary Chung's in Central (short walk from the Central T stop); there is also of course excellent dim sum in various places in Chinatown, which is a somewhat longer walk from Downtown Crossing. (I wouldn't bother making the switch to the orange for that.)

China Pearl, in Chinatown, is my usual go-to spot for the full "here come the carts with food, let's get some of that" experience. Were I in Boston, I'd happily join you there; it's a fairly short walk from South Station (like [livejournal.com profile] liliaren I don't bother switching to the Orange Line when going to Chinatown via the Red Line).

Mary's is also an excellent choice.

(Unfortunately, I'm not actually in range to join you; do you have any Seattle recommendations? :-)

Every Christmas, I organize a group for dim sum (if you and [livejournal.com profile] cattitude are here, please come) and we go to the China Pearl in Chinatown. It's WONDERFUL!
