I had a thing called Rad Na Delight that might be worth asking about. It was very savory and not at all spicy. It was total comfort food the first time I had it. I don't remember whether you like gai lan, but it had gai lan and noodles and choice of protein at the restaurant I had it at, and a thick gravy-like sauce, and now I am very glad we are going back there on Saturday so I can have more. (My choice of protein is tofu, and it's amazing how this Thai dish with zero elements in common with the potpies of my childhood can hit so many of the same comfort food notes.) But one of the ways in which it was notable was the lack of peppers, so I thought of your recent forced turn in that direction.
