We have the farmer's market!

The Bellevue Saturday farmer's market started today. This was a pleasant surprise—from their website, I had thought it would be next week.

We have cheese, good ripe strawberries, Chelan cherries, and some apriums that I think aren't really ripe yet. I also bought a strawberry-basil popsicle bar and ate it while looking at other things.

I slept poorly last night and am not feeling entirely well, but fresh strawberries and having the proper shape of our Saturday mornings back help.

Yay for Saturday farmer's markets.

Is it me or is that market a late starter? Most of the ones here were up and running in April and May, and it's not like we're warmer than your climate.

It feels like a late starter to me as well; the other Bellevue market, on Thursdays, started in mid-May. (Downtown Bellevue is a weird mix of residential and office space, which might be relevant.) There are at least a couple of year-round markets in Seattle,
