Our friend Lenore (WINOLJ/DW as far as I know), who lives in Hoboken*, is in town for about a week, visiting her niece and niece-in-law. She emailed me a couple of weeks ago, suggesting we get together if we were going to be in town. Since [livejournal.com profile] cattitude has taken this week as vacation, I suggested yesterday. We penciled that in, and then made more definite plans the day before. I'd gone from "I'm sorry, I don't know a lot of places" to remembering that there's a nice little sushi restaurant near the Bellevue Library.

I looked at schedules and worked out directions for her to get the light rail and bus in time for lunch. I asked her to text me when her bus passed the South Bellevue Park and Ride, so we could meet her bus and ride together to the library. That worked quite smoothly, and Rolls and Rolls was as good on this visit as it had been on our first. And almost as empty. I hope he's doing more business most weekday lunchtimes, or has a lot of dinner business. This time the on-the-house dessert was rice with an apple topping, dried fruit inside, and a slice of cucumber on the bottom.

After lunch we walked to my and Cattitude's apartment, and spent a couple more hours talking. We weren't solving the world's problems, but it was a very pleasant afternoon, and I'd happily have gone on longer if she hadn't been getting a bit tired.

*(Despite the geography, I think of Lenore as a Wiscon friend, because that's where most of our conversations take place.)
