Julian is safely in his temporary quarters in the Seattle area, and they even sent a picture.

The moving company apparently sent their A team, who showed up at 8 a.m. sharp and had everything packed and loaded by about 5:15. We are now in a midtown hotel, and tomorrow will go uptown, do a bit of last-minute cleaning (including discarding stuff ranging from half a bottle of olive oil to the cleaning supplies under the kitchen sink) and give the super the keys. Sometime moderately soon there ought to be dinner; unfortunately, while I worked in this neighborhood for 4 years, what I mostly know is lunchtime salad bars and food courts s couple of blocks east. It's unfortunate that Korean food is mostly too spicy for me, because this block is the heart of Manhattan's Korean section.

I am hoping for a call soon from the people who are supposed to be taking the comic books. (Last night fell through for reasons never entirely explained, and the latest was that they would call back around 7, or 45 minutes ago.

Good luck with the move! Having done my fair few cross-country moves myself, I have some idea what it's like. Hope this one continues to go as smoothly as it has so far.
