I had time for quite a bit of cardio, and the time with Emilie included more progress on balance, despite my being short on sleep.
Cardio, 23:30, top heart rate 141
Rolled out the IT band, thighs, etc.
Hamstring bridge, 4 sets of 9; then stretched those, once Emilie got there (after her class)
Psoas, 2 on each side. I had to restart the last of those because I realized part way through that I was wobbling: after I folded back in, Emilie pointed out that I'd lost track of my abs. This was the theme of the session, in some ways, because I was tired.
Abs, 3 sets of 10, I think (on the small ball)
Squats, 2 sets of 15
Calf raise, 2 sets of 15
Some standing on the foam roll; kept my eyes open because I was feeling sleepy enough that I'd closed them while stretching after the calf raises, and thought "this is comfy...no, don't nap here."
Then we did the exercises-with-balance using a new device, a wooden board on a pair of wheels (a few centimeters off the floor when it's working, the trick is not to let the front or back edge touch the ground). Getting onto that one was easier than I, or I think Emilie, was expecting it to be: of course, we started with the lat pulldown, which has those for extra support:
Lat pulldown, 35 pounds, 3 sets of 12: and just stood on it for a bit, without holding on, for a little at the end: Emilie was impressed. (That was my own idea.)
hug a tree, 20 pounds, 2 sets of 12, I think, with some right elbow massage between the two
Then things for back muscles, and for triceps (all these on that object)
Finished with standing on that squishy thing again, getting on from sitting on the massage table. This was supposed to be easier, but I hadn't been expecting that: I'd been expecting to do it the same way as two weeks ago, from standing up and Emilie holding her hands out to help support me, and while getting on, and then off again, was simple, the shift threw me a bit, after the other new stuff.
