I just got email from the director of Human Resources, at the place I interviewed Tuesday, asking for references. *grin* I've sent them four name--two at ACM, in case one of them is out on vacation for the next fortnight or something--plus Kevin (NYRSF) and Jim who I did proofreading for a couple of months ago.
Nothing is likely happen until Monday, of course--I just got home and checked email, and even if Maureen Tilwitz is still at work at this hour on a summer Friday, that doesn't mean my references will be reachable right now. Kevin, likely; the others, probably not.
