snowy walk, with hat photo

I just went for a walk, after [personal profile] adrian_turtle texted me to say she'd been outside right at the beginning of the current snowfall. I walked several blocks, turned around, and did a first pass on shoveling our sidewalk when I got back. It's really not my turn, since I shoveled the walk after the previous snowfall, but I was outside anyway, and it's light, fluffy snow.

I wore my long coat, a fancy blue and purple fur hat that I bought on a whim a few years ago and then didn't wear, and a medical mask. The har doesn't cover my ears, but having my nose and mouth covered makes a real difference to how cold I get, and feel.

You look lovely, mask and all. I find that the face masks work better for me than a winter scarf would, because the nose wires help keep my glasses from fogging up.

What a great hat.

I've had that experience with the mask too; even a lightish one makes one far warmer. Which is not so great in hot weather, but hot weather is a long way away right now.

Yep, I clicked through to agree on this point.

Yes, definitely. Masks do a great job of keeping my face warm.
