Celebrated

I have had duck in a pink peppercorn sauce (with potatoes Lyonnaise and some nice broccoli and green beans) and then tarte tatin for dinner; [livejournal.com profile] cattitude had pate (I tasted a bit), pork medallions, and a flourless chocolate cake. (Le Jardin Bistro, on Cleveland Place.)

This was to celebrate my new work assigment and connected raise. We were going to do it last night, but then he had to work late, and hanging around for an extra hour didn't feel celebratory, so I came home and cooked us a chicken curry (once he got home) instead.

I have also picked up a new backpack of a size suitable for a weekend trip to Arlington, because I wanted something smaller than the backpack I've traveled with for ages, and found last time that Cattitude's backpack is the wrong shape for me.
